concerned, jenna, by the thought that the cia and the fbi and our entire intelligence gathering community, if you believe them, can't figure out for 10 days whether there was a demonstration or not. i saw, i saw the video yesterday. it was very clear there wasn't a demonstration. there were people they could have interviewed. i think that is a an important question to ask. why don't you ask people that were there that were in germany the next day. we got people out of there to germany the next day. what they saw and said there was no demonstration. don't use that as the background for what happened. jenna: just for clarity the video you're mentioning is video of the attack in benghazi? >> it was surveillance video that wasn't initially available. we shouldn't have to have a video to show there was no demonstration going on. there were people that could have been asked. it shouldn't have taken 10 days for for the intelligence community to find out that something didn't happen. jenna: senator, talk about the impressions that you got from the hearing. this of course being closed and classifi

this a serial killer but not ruling it out and gone to the fbi with help of a profiler to track a murderer who committed three murders within miles of each other. is the murder of another brooklyn store owner the work of a serial killer? that's because ballistic tests showed the same .22-caliber gun used in the murder of three store owners. first victim, 65 years old killed in july. in august, another shop owner gunned down inside the store. here at the scene the police found the body inside the store friday night. they say he was shot three times in the head and torso. in this case, as in the two others, law enforcement sources say each body was covered with clothes or merchandise. police are not ruling out a potential hate crime. two of the victims they described as jewish. one was egyptian. also possible link in police commissioner says none of the three stores had surveillance cameras. >> here you have three stores where the proprietor is there by himself, no cameras in any of these stores. so you would have to speculate that some sort of reconnaissance was going on, i would say, before th

the fbi were investigating american torture, rather than american love affairs. and this struck me with security contractors. we have had two months of heated controversy about benghazi and what happened. it was bad. four americans were killed. hundreds of security contractors were killed in iraq. i have written two books on iraq and i have never been able to figure out an exact number. the answer is no one cares and no one seems to care still. the official tally leaves out at least 57 incidents that we know about. the tally is quite suspect. this puts aside the foreign security contractors, south africans, costa ricans. there seems to be no tally of this at all and nobody cares. i have got to wonder how much of the mess in benghazi is simply fueled by fox news, poisoning the american bloodstream. it really bothers me. i compare that to the total carelessness about the deaths of security contractors in iraq. >> thomas ricks writes a blog on foreign policies website. ricks. foreignpolicy.com. he is the author of many books, including a new book called "the generals." let's hear from
